potential for the workplace to enhance environmental sustainability

I discussed this with my team leader and her assistant and they helped me come up with a few ideas. The first idea that we came up with to help the centre be more involved with environmental sustainability was for them to enhance their vegetable patch that is in the play area outside, for this to occur the children would be able to help plant more vegetables and seeds into the patch as at the moment there is only parsley and flowers. Another idea that we came up with was for the children to have access to the recycling bin so that they children could place paper and recyclable items into it and understand what happens to the paper after the bin gets emptied. One last idea that we had was for the children to bring in cardboard boxes and leftover paper from their houses so that they could use it at childcare and so that it wasn't getting wasted in their houses.
